Summary

Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, the successful Project Manager will lead and manage the off-site engineering, procurement fabrication and shipping whilst supporting on-site assembly of the fuel storage pools for a high profile twin reactor nuclear new build project. You will be responsible for developing and delivering successful strategies whilst offering exceptional service which is customer focused and highly responsive.

The ideal candidate will be Degree educated in a relevant field or alternatively be qualified by extensive experience in all project management techniques and processes and have a history of successfully delivering complex projects over £100Million in value. A significant element of the role includes the plan, design and modification of production processes to include engineering improvements for health & safety, cost and quality.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Management of all disciplines within the project with a particular understanding of the process and verification of change control
  • Managing and developing multi-functional teams including operations, engineering and planning
  • Managing project development from beginning to end including planning and measurement of project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques, including Earned Value Management
  • Delivery through cost control and management of project deliverables.
  • Development of Work Breakdown Structures and associated activity schedules and cost centres
  • Risk Management and the identification and application of appropriate mitigation
  • Estimating the resources and staff needed to achieve project goals
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and recruiting if necessary during project cycle
  • Delegating tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Complete progress reports, outlining on-going timeline, issues and providing problem resolutions
  • Client Relations, growing and establishing new and existing client relationships
  • Financial planning, including setting and achieving annual budgets and KPI’s
  • Accurate reporting of project performance

  • Working closely with the Senior Programme Manager to deliver business unit and project differentiators across DEL EPC portfolio, proposals and commercial operations.

Experience

  • Experience of NEC3 contracts essential
  • Nuclear industry experience desirable
  • Strong problem solving skills, including root causes analysis
  • A creative approach to developing new ideas
  • Proven experience/ability to drive quality and ensure compliance with all internal and legislative quality standards
  • Prior experience in managing operations, manufacturing engineering
