The Engineering Team Leader will integrate efforts between engineering disciplines, operations, supply chain and quality to ensure that the teams meet Customer and stakeholder’s requirements (safety, quality, cost and schedule). The successful candidate will manage a small team of Engineers responsible for the delivery of NPI (New Product Introduction), Manufacturing, R&D and Sustaining Engineering.

Key duties and responsibilities
• Responsible for the delivery of engineering milestones across projects and components
• Monitor team Load and Capacity, taking appropriate measures as necessary
• Planning of design activities
• Management of Risk
• Lead and develop a small team of Design and Manufacturing Engineers with the appropriate level of skills and experience to deliver the engineering design solutions
• Provide technical leadership and direction to the team
• Mentor, coach and train the team
• Define objectives and support development plans
• Lead design reviews
• Supervise, check and validate design activities and deliverables through the product life cycle
• Promote a culture of high performance and innovation
• Responsible for defining and applying the adequate processes and methods for product design, and ensuring process compliance within the team, including:
o Requirements management
o Change management
o Robust Design, Tolerance Design, Design for Six Sigma
o Design for manufacturing
o Design validation
o Knowledge management (lessons learnt, design guides)
o Develop and deliver design capability road map and contribute to the Company’s product strategy
o Contribute to Research and Development projects
• Any other similar duties, as deemed appropriate in line with the scope, spirit and purpose of the position

• Demonstrative experience in delivering complex design solutions and leading design teams, preferably in the Aerospace industry
• Previous experience of technical leadership
• Experience in the design and definition process of comples products through the product life cycle

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including reporting skills at all levels
• Proficiency in 3D CAD essential, Solidworks and Catia preferred
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and targets

Qualifications Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline
