Summary

You will support the Quality Team with key welding inspection activities surrounding all project deliverables surrounding the Nuclear, Oil & Gas and Marine sectors components, ensuring a good handle on report writing, potentially deal with 3rd party inspectors, document control and participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action events when they arise.

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Inspection of products for the Nuclear, Oil & Gas and Marine sectors
  • Perform weld surveillance audits and report outs.
  • Able to work ‘hands on’ in data gathering and support in the execution of corrective / preventative activities.
  • Working with / development of KPI’s / report measures of performance.
  • Performing Quality contract reviews as and when required.
  • Promote a safe working environment.
  • Support the Quality Team Manager in the role out of Quality initiatives.
  • Attend/Chair daily toolbox meetings as required
  • Adhere to specifications and instructions
  • Promote a safe working enviornment
  • Occasional requirement to travel to other client sites if necessary
  • Any other similar duties as required

Skills & Experience

  • Working in a fabrication environment, with Stainless Steel and Carbon Steel
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other trades e.g. welders/platers/3rd Party Inspectors
  • Experience of standard measurement equipment, i.e. tape measure/Vernier/gauges..
  • Experience reading technical drawings, WPS
  • Good understanding of root cause/corrective preventative would be advantageous
  • Good organisational skills and competent analytical techniques.
  • Must be self-motivated, and capable of working within a group or individually.
  • Must be computer literate with skills in Microsoft word and Excel.
  • Must be able to report at all levels within the business.
  • Capable of working to agreed schedules and timescales, with ability to prioritise and multitask in pressurised environment with flexible approach to workload
